Frequently asked questions
What size should I order?
Go by your measurements, not your dress size. Measure your natural waist and the fullest part of your hips, then match them to the size chart. If your waist and hips fall in different sizes, order to your hips; if you're between two sizes, size up.
What sizes does Bloom come in?
Every style runs XS to XXL. Full bust, waist and hip ranges in inches and centimetres are on our size guide.
Should I size down for more control?
No. A too-small garment pushes tissue to the edges and creates a bulge above the waistband — you get less smoothing, not more, plus rolling and discomfort. The correct size gives the cleanest line.
Why does my shapewear roll down?
Almost always because it's too small. When compression exceeds what the fabric can hold at its edge, the band folds over. Sizing up fixes it far more often than sizing down. Body lotion on the skin can also defeat a silicone grip — apply it at night instead.
How do I wash Bloom shapewear?
Cold water only — hand wash, or turn it inside out in a mesh bag on a delicate cycle at 30°C or below. Mild detergent, no fabric softener, and never tumble dry. Press it in a towel and hang or lay flat to dry.
Can I put it in the dryer?
No. The elastane that creates compression degrades permanently above about 40°C, and household dryers run at 57–77°C. One cycle won't ruin it, but the damage adds up and can't be reversed. Always air dry.
How long will it last?
About a year of regular wear if you wash cold and air dry — closer to 3–6 months with daily wear. Heat and fabric softener are what shorten it. Rotating two pieces makes both last longer.
Do I wear underwear under it?
Usually not — our bodysuits and shapers have a cotton gusset and are designed to sit against skin, and a second layer tends to create the visible line the shapewear removes. Wear underwear on your period, or simply if you prefer to.
Can I wear it all day?
Yes, in a correctly sized everyday-compression style. If it digs, pinches or you're counting down to taking it off, it's the wrong size — not something to push through. Save firm compression for occasions.
Will it show under clothing?
Seamless construction and skin-matched shades are designed to disappear under fitted clothes. Match the shade to your skin tone rather than your outfit, and size correctly — a too-small garment shows as a ridge.
Which style should I choose?
It depends on what you want to shape and what you're wearing it under. Our fit finder narrows it to one recommendation in three questions, and every collection page explains which cut suits which goal.
What colours are available?
Light Skin, Dark Brown and Black. For white, cream and pastel outfits, choose the shade closest to your skin — white shapewear reads as a brighter layer under light fabric.
What's it made of?
A seamless nylon-and-spandex blend built to compress and move with you, breathable enough for all-day wear.
Can I use the bathroom in it?
Our shapers are designed for everyday wear. Gusset details vary by style, so check the product page — or ask our team — if using the bathroom without fully undressing matters to you.
What if the fit isn't right?
You have 30 days to try it at home. If the size or style isn't right, exchange it or send it back — see our fit guarantee and returns page for how it works.
